The hurricane If you were

The hurricane

If you were rocking open toe sandals, you got checked. WuTang was running around punching reporters in the mouths back in those days. Shyt you didnt have to say no homo back then, it was no question to the point you were getting across. Lil B, Soulja boy and others wouldnt have even made it. Like Mos Def said at the beginning of Black On Both Sides People ask me always whats going on with hip hop, like its some giant coming down to visit the townspeople. I tell them, whatever is going on with us, is going on with hip hop. Thats truth. Lets face it, in an era where da fakeness is celebrated, truthfully, mad wussies entered the game. A plethora of pussies. And they dont want that stno more. I always enjoyed rap battles. To me they were a form of unity in a sense. Yea you had your group that would get out of hand with it but most of it was kept on wax. You had your emcees who were able to talk about it, post battle and politick bout it. Plus you got some of your hardest lyrics from rap battles. Its a part of our culture and it just proceeded to the music. What I mean? Shyt, my good peoples stay crackin on peepz. Shyt even on the boardz, dudez go back and forth wit it. And art is an imitation of life itself. So rap battles isnt bad, its just that Im not interested in seeing any of the current contestants go it. In general, people arent as confrontational as they used to be. Rap beef only died because it became a marketing tool. A lot of stin Hip hop isnt done for sport, now its all about dollars. I dont like is this new stwhen rappers throw shots and when the hurricane other rapper response is too much to fk with, they get quiet. Thats what makes stwack. Hip Hop was built on battling thats what use to happen out in the parks different Emcees got on the mic and did theyre thing. So who are these new clowns to change tradition. I say this, if youre not built for battling dont the hurricane shit, just make hits thats all. Stay in your lane, a lot of rappers cant seem to do that and get caught up. Now on to Jay-Z I personally think he doesnt respond because he fears another loss. He doesnt want anyone to come up on him but yet he throws a lot of jabs, which Im not feeling. But look at who these people are they arent tough guys so theyre use to backing down with no problem. As far as Nicki and Kim, Im not taking side cuz Im a Jean Grae supporter anyways. But, Nicki set that off, she got hype because she was on the come up and had the fans and she got slick. Kim wasnt doing stmusically so when she came in full attack with something that wasnt great but I dont think Nicki can handle. Nicki got quiet and went into retreat, and thats the type of stthat makes battling seem dead. If you wanna be the best you have to cover all grounds of hip hop point blank. And yes, if you have a strong opinion about the negatives these fake tough guy comercial artists put out. You just be greeted by their fans on blogs calling you a hater. People are beyond programmed, they call these mainstream artists who use the same producers and formulas different but yet when a rapper really is different they sont notice it or accept it. If its not skinny jeans and singing in hooks over half techno beats then its wack lame too old not hot for the club or my favorite that ol NYC shit.
